Welcome back! If you’ve missed the last 3 posts of this series, here they are:
Are you ready to hear number 4? Good! Because I’m ready to explain it!
“Do What You Love, Love What You Do”
Number 4 is do what you love. There’s a very popular quote that says, “Do What You Love, Love What You Do”. I completely agree with this! Why? Because it will make you happy! Don’t waste your time doing things that you hate. Instead, take more time to find what you love to do! This applies to everything in your life, not just your job/career. Your life should be filled with things that you love doing and that make you happy.
“If you can’t get out of it, get into it.”
On the flip side, I know that there are things that we have to do that we hate doing…things that we can’t get out of. For this, I have another quote for you: “If you can’t get out of it, get into it.” I’m not sure who said this originally but my High School Band teacher would always say this to us when their were bad attitudes, etc. I love this quote because it applies so much to life! There are some things in our lives that we HATE doing…but if we can’t get out of them…we mind as well get into them! Turn them into a positive…turn them into something you LOVE doing! You can go about this several different ways (by changing how you do it, by changing your attitude, or even by rewarding yourself for doing it). The important thing is that you do it so that you’re not miserable.
Many of you will probably be thinking, ‘Why is this something that we MUST do before we die?’ The answer is because so many of us don’t find things that we love to do or we don’t appreciate them. Many people die unhappy and unfulfilled because they just had a ‘job’ their whole lives instead of a ‘career’. Many people only see the negatives like that the dog peed in the house and that food doesn’t taste good. They’re disappointed in their family because they weren’t as successful as they wanted them to be and they hate life. Why live like this? You may hate that the dog peed in the house but you love your dog right? Maybe that certain meal didn’t taste good but you love the taste of some foods right? And it doesn’t matter if your family lived up to your expectations or not…as long as they are happy with what they are doing and happy with their lives.
So to sum all this up…Do what you love to do! And for those things that you hate to do but you have to do…learn to love them! It will make you happier with yourself and with your life!
