The beginning of this week I had very bad lower back pains but thankfully, by Wednesday, they were gone. This week has been a pretty lazy week. We got a few more Golden Books on Saturday, but otherwise we have stayed home so that I could rest.
I tried to work out on Monday…it did not go so well! I tried to do the first Cize workout from Beachbody and I made it about 5 minutes before I had to sit down because I was not feeling well. With 10 minutes left of the session, I got up and did a few more minutes and had to sit down again. Then, at the very end, I did the routine through twice before that session ended. Afterwards I had really bad lower stomach pain and couldn’t do much after taking a quick shower. After eating I felt slightly better, but I don’t think hunger was the cause of that bad stomach pain.
Starting Thursday, I have had to stay off of Zyrtec (for allergies) because I am seeing the allergist next week and I can’t take it the week before my appointment. Unfortunately, I got hives/welts on my hands and feet Friday night, after servicing some candy machines that afternoon. I also got some small hives on my leg that were itching almost all day. I could not sleep that night because I was itchy. My head, arms, back, & legs itched like crazy!
Saturday morning I was extremely frustrated because I was still so itchy…so I took a shower. Towards the end of my shower my stomach started to hurt and I got EXTREMELY dizzy. I got so dizzy that I practically jumped out of the shower and sat down on the toilet (which obviously made a huge puddle of water on the floor which was not fun to clean up after feeling like that). Sitting down made the dizziness go away but my stomach still hurt slightly. I avoided standing too much for the rest of the day in fear that that would happen again.
Thankfully today I am feeling a little better but my stomach still doesn’t feel completely normal. Hopefully this goes away so that Emilio & I can get stuff done that we need to do!
This week has been quite boring…I avoided doing much because I got hives and couldn’t take my antihistamine this week because I saw the allergist on Thursday. I also had an appointment with the midwife on Tuesday where she checked in with me to see how I was doing. She gave us a pamphlet for childbirth classes that we should take and also found the babies heartbeat again so that we could hear him/her. This time he/she was being a brat and was hiding so it took her longer to find the thumping of his/her quick heartbeat but she did find it eventually. She told me that I should feel the baby move before my next appointment in November and that the hospital will be calling me to schedule a 20 week ultrasound.
On Thursday I went to the allergist…which was mostly unsuccessful but I did get a little more information about what is happening with my body. He said I have chronic spontaneous urticaria…which means it may pop up or go away at any time. It could lay ‘dormant’ for 20 years and suddenly happen again, just depends on what my body wants to do. He said that my IgG antibodies are attacking the IgE receptors on my mast cells, which cause them to release histamine, causing swelling. I am not actually allergic to anything and stress is not necessarily the cause. We naturally have IgG antibodies in us to fight off disease and bacteria but they are attaching to the IgE receptors as well, which they should not be doing. He said I can take up to 4 Zyrtec per day to help keep the hives/welts away and if I am still miserable I can come in each month for a shot of Zolare, which reduces the number of IgE receptors on my cells.
As of now, I am feeling quite a bit better and have been hive/welt free since Thursday when I started taking Zyrtec again (once a day). I do not want to be on Zyrtec permanently and would like to find another solution to this problem, so I will do my research and see if I can find something better and more natural to help with my chronic spontaneous urticaria.
This week I have felt quite a bit better…until this weekend. For some reason, Thursday night I threw up right after taking my pills and then it happened again Saturday night. This whole week has been pretty great except for that. I’ve had more energy and we’ve gotten a lot of stuff done. I’ve also had no welts…just a little swelling in my feet towards the end of the day (but I can handle that).
Saturday night (Halloween) we dressed up as bank robbers, complete with air soft guns and a money bag! It was so much fun but the walking that we did while trick or treating wore me out! With that on top of daylight savings time, I feel completely worn out and confused today. I’ve had a headache off and on and I feel incredibly stuffy today as well. I hope I’m not getting sick…but only time will tell.
