I didn’t get sick (knock on wood…)! However, I did throw up my pills again Monday night and this time it was HORRIBLE! I ate half a bagel to have some food in my stomach before taking them and I threw that up with dinner…I’ve never wretched that hard in my life. I felt like Emilio throwing up (so loud that the neighbors could hear me). I didn’t take my pills for a couple days because I was scared to but I finally took my Protandim & Zyrtec Friday morning and my prenatal vitamin and Zinc with dinner. I still haven’t thrown them up by taking them this way so hopefully this will work from now on.
We’ve been busted! Emilio and I have been deciding on how we want to do the gender reveal and we can’t come up with exactly what we want to do. He wants to find out at the ultrasound and not tell anyone until Christmas, but I argue that we cannot keep a secret like that for that long. We can’t even keep a secret for more than a couple days without asking each other if we can say something! Many people have been asking us when we are going to find out the gender and I say, “The ultrasound is the week before Thanksgiving but we’re going to put it in an envelope and do a big reveal on Christmas.” Well…my mom busted our plan! I was hoping no one would ask us this…but she finally said, “Why don’t you do the gender reveal at Thanksgiving?” Emilio tried to brush it off by saying, “Because you don’t open gifts on Thanksgiving.” For now that is where we left it…but I think that was my mom’s hint that she really wants to know 😉
I’ve been debating on whether or not I should share this…but it was part of my pregnancy so here it goes. This week I peed my pants. I haven’t said that since I was a very little girl and now I just said it again. I was squatting down and putting stuff away when I sneezed…and obviously did more than sneeze! All I have to say is that I’m glad I was the only one home when this happened so that it wasn’t more embarrassing!
On a better note, I think I felt the baby move this week! I was sitting on the couch with Emilio watching TV and I had this sudden feeling in the bottom of my abdomen. It literally felt like a finger poking me from the inside out. I thought I was just sitting wrong so I moved a little and it happened again, let up, and happened one last time. I could have been nothing, I’m not sure but it could have been a fist or foot kicking me or hitting me.
Unfortunately this week has been a headache. My parents bought our refrigerator from a local business almost 2 years ago when we finished our loft area. He did not have the crispers for it at the time but said that he would bring them to us as soon as he found them. Several months ago the door stopped closing all the way and he still had not found crispers that would fit our fridge so he traded us out. The new fridge ran good for about 2-3 days and then the freezer stopped working. Our freezer was at 25 degrees, when it should be at 0 degrees. We had to take our unfrozen food to my parents freezer until we find a new one.
I got a cold on Friday and have felt pretty miserable since and the last two nights I have not been able to sleep until about 6 in the morning. Every time I lay down my nose gets plugged and I can’t breathe…and breathing through my mouth hurts so I just toss and turn instead of actually sleeping. Hopefully this gets better really soon!
On Monday we went shopping for a new refrigerator and also ran a lot more errands. By the end of the day my feet and back were hurting worse than they have for a while. We finally made it home and I put my feet up but I was worn out.
On Tuesday we had another doctors appointment. Unfortunately my blood pressure was 132/110 and we had to wait for a little while after the appointment so that the nurse could take it again to see if it was still high. My blood pressure has never been that high, so we were all a little surprised. Thankfully, the second time she took my blood pressure it was back to normal. I have to go in next week and get it checked one more time to make sure I’m not getting gestational hypertension. I also talked to the midwife to find out what medicines I could take to get rid of my cold and she gave me a list of things that are ok. We picked up some Robitussum to help get rid of it.
On Thursday we had our 20 week ultrasound. They made me lay on my back for over an hour so that they could try and get measurements of the baby. My back hurts really bad on my right side, right next to my pelvis when I lay on my back and they wouldn’t let me put my legs up or prop me up or anything. I was miserable! It was amazing to see the babies pieces and parts though. The most recognizable pieces were the spine, legs, head, and heart.
We had another doctor’s appointment on Tuesday to check my blood pressure again. Thankfully it was normal so the midwife said she won’t worry about it for right now and just continue to monitor it. That was definitely a relief!
Thursday was Thanksgiving and it turned out to be a great day! We had 3 meals, but we made it through and were able to eat a little bit at eat one. We also revealed the gender of the baby to his family…you want to guess??? IT’S A BOY!!! We are more than excited and can’t wait for our little boy to get here!
This week has been a little up and down. As the baby gets bigger, so do I (obviously) and it’s getting hard to bend over now. If I bend over too far my tummy stops me…it’s no fun and I can honestly say I am not looking forward to this getting worse! Setting up the Christmas decorations has proven to be more than I can handle but I’m trying to push through because I love this time of year and love decorating for it! I can’t wait until it’s all done!
