I finally made it through! I’m glad to be done with this month and on to the last one! Here’s an overview of Pregnancy: Month 8. If you’ve missed our Pregnancy Announcement, the First Trimester Overview, Pregnancy: Month 4, Pregnancy: Month 5, Pregnancy: Month 6, or Pregnancy: Month 7 make sure to read them first!
This week has been a pretty crazy one! I had to go to Oregon for a meeting, we’ve been doing a ton of paperwork, and I haven’t felt the greatest. We also had a wedding to go to for Emilio’s uncle. I’m glad I made it through, but it has been tough! I am definitely fighting another cold because I got another cold sore on Monday and my nose is more stuffed up than usual and my throat hurts off and on and I have mucus in my throat as well.
I have taken it easy this week by sitting most of the time until yesterday when I took pictures at his uncle’s wedding. The wedding was beautiful but it definitely wore me out! I took some Zyrtec and Tylenol when we got home and that definitely helped…but my feet still felt like I was standing on them and parts of my hands were slightly swollen.
Trying to sleep last night was exhausting. I felt so tired but my legs hurt so bad. Emilio rubbed them for me but as soon as I would start to feel them relax I would twitch and tense my whole leg again. I took some more Tylenol and he kept rubbing them and eventually I did finally fall asleep but that was very frustrating. My head wanted sleep and my body wanted to stay awake.
Unfortunately, this morning we did not make it to church because when I took my pills I gagged several times. Last time this happened I threw them up and neither of us wanted me to be throwing up at church. Thankfully I did keep them down but my stomach didn’t feel very good and I kept burping up a little bit of stomach acid. Now to edit the mass amount of photos that I have…
Monday I pulled my rectus abdominus muscle while doing candy machines. The pain started in my hip and worked it’s way up my stomach on my right side. By that night my back was hurting and I could barely stand up straight. Thankfully it started feeling a little better on Tuesday but it was still moderately painful. The midwife said that she’s not worried about it unless it doesn’t heal. If it feels any worse I need to let her know.
Wednesday morning I had the worst charlie horse I’ve had in a long time! I will have small charlie horses several nights a week but if I flex my foot quickly they are very minor and don’t develop into a full charlie horse. Wednesday morning I got the start of a charlie horse in both my legs but was able to flex my left foot quick enough before it fully cramped…my right one however developed into a full and very painful charlie horse.
The rest of this week was busy and I’m getting sick yet again…every time I get a cold (or even if my body is fighting a cold) I will get a cold sore…and I got another one. That’s 3 in the same month! I don’t think I’ve ever had this happen! Sunday my cold sore got worse and my symptoms did too. My throat hurts really bad every morning and I feel like I am constantly blowing my nose because it feels slightly stuffy almost constantly.
Well, I got more sick on Monday and it lasted through about Thursday. My cold sore exploded from 2 little bumps to a full circle and my throat hurt and I was more stuffy than normal. Thankfully I got over it…but now I’m fighting yet another strain of it…I have 2 cold sore bumps starting toward the corner of my mouth now…this is the 4th…yes FOURTH cold sore in a row! The most I’ve ever had is 2 cold sores in a row!
This week I’ve come to the conclusion that Emilio is really gonna miss it when I’m not pregnant anymore. One pregnancy symptom is having vivid dreams…and I have had maybe a handful of vivid dreams this whole pregnancy. Emilio has had more vivid dreams than I can count! He’s also gained about 20 pounds since fire season and so I think he’s gaining my extra weight 😉 I’ve only gained 25 pounds so far and I haven’t gained any weight in the last month.
Our son got hiccups for the first time this week. I have to admit, it’s one of the most interesting and weird things I’ve ever felt! I was sitting with my phone resting on my belly while on Facebook and suddenly there was a constant jump from my belly. Each jump was about 3-4 seconds apart and it was very constant! He also gets what I’m calling ‘shivers’. It feels like a quick shake, like a dog shaking water off, and then he’s done. He’s done this for a couple weeks but I keep forgetting to write about it.
The first baby shower was yesterday. It was a ton of fun and we got lots of stuff! We still have a few things we will need but we have more baby showers so we may get those things in the future 🙂
What a week! It’s official…I’ve gotten a cold. It started Monday with my chest feeling like it was dry. Tuesday I had mucus in my throat and a stuffy nose and I have been fighting it ever since. It’s hard to sleep because my nose is all stuffed and my mouth gets really dry from breathing through it. Also, every morning my hips have hurt REALLY bad. The pain is worse when I walk, but it still hurts even when I’m just sitting here. This pain has been lasting about half the day and will be gone by the afternoon.
Friday and Saturday I was completely miserable because of this cold and I got major welts on my hands and feet. I couldn’t sleep or relax because I was in so much pain. Hopefully this next week is better…I’m so sick of being sick!
Why can’t I just be 40 weeks already?! This week has been a trial to get through. I’ve had a lot of paperwork to do and I am STILL fighting the same cold…that I’ve now had for 2 weeks! As soon as I feel like I’m getting better, I get worse. I’m coughing a lot, have a stuffy/runny nose, and my throat hurts periodically as well. I’m done with this and I just need to get over it! I have concluded that until this is gone I can’t be away from my diffuser for more than an hour. While the diffuser is on I can actually breathe! I have been using a combination of oils, but mostly the Respiratory Blend essential oil, or Eucalyptus essential oil with Lemon essential oil.
I also have come to conclusion that I cannot do candy machines anymore until this baby is out of me…I did some on Friday with my dad and paid for it that night. My right foot was swollen and my back hurt pretty bad and then that night I couldn’t sleep because I was so uncomfortable. After tossing and turning for about an hour and a half I finally fell asleep, but turned over often because my hips hurt so bad. I didn’t have much hip pain this week until Friday night/Saturday. Saturday I could barely walk because they hurt so bad! I just hope I can last through the next 4 weeks…I don’t want to be miserable for a whole month!
